Dr. Andrew Sparling

Veterinarian
Dr. Andrew Sparling graduated with honours from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1999. Since then, he has been practicing just south of Ottawa at first working in mixed practice, then slowly transitioning to companion animals. Dr. Sparling has done extra training in both companion animal surgery, dentistry, reproduction and ultrasonography. After several years of missing treating large animals, he attended the Veterinary Chiropractic Learning Center and completed his Veterinary Spinal Manipulative Therapy mixed animal training in 2015 and a Fellow of the College of Animal Chiropractors. He also has completed training from the Chi Institute in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine starting in 2018. He is a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist in mixed animal practice with advanced course work being completed in 2020 in companion animal acupuncture. In his words, these courses have made Dr. Sparling a better veterinarian with both a more focused approach and considering the patient as a whole instead of simply focusing on a single disease process.   Dr. Sparling had been practicing at Osgoode Veterinary Services since its inception with a fantastic team. When not at work, he is very busy at home with his wife, two very fast-growing boys, a dog and two cats. He can be found attempting to be handy around the house, coaching or taking part in various sports and trying to spend as much time in the outdoors as possible.   Dr. Sparling also volunteers on the board of the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association and the Canadian Violence Link Coalition, whose mandate is to advance awareness, education and training about the link between violence against humans and violence against animals.
